Question 1

What do you think AI means for our future—and why?

I see AI as an extraordinary engine for growth, access and empowerment. Its real power emerges when it combines with distinctive data, enormous compute and a clear human need. At X, that meant improving discovery, recommendations and the real-time understanding of conversation. In healthcare, it means giving clinicians better tools and giving patients education, transparency and personalized support. The biggest opportunity is not replacing trusted human relationships. It is strengthening them. At eMed, AI works alongside continuous clinical support to help patients stay engaged with treatment and move healthcare from reactive care toward prevention. That combination of intelligence, empathy and human care can improve lives while bending both the health curve and the cost curve. That is a game changer.

Question 2

How much do you think AI will ultimately change the world?

Profoundly. I believe AI will reshape how people learn, how businesses grow, and how healthcare is delivered. The biggest impact will come when powerful technology is paired with trusted human support and a clear real-world need. In healthcare, that can mean more personalized guidance, better-informed patients, empowered clinicians, and a shift from reactive care toward prevention. That is an extraordinary opportunity.

Question 3

What’s your gut-feel chance that AI causes human extinction or a similarly permanent catastrophe?

I don’t have a numerical estimate. My focus has been on practical applications of AI in business, learning and healthcare, not extinction-risk forecasting.

Question 4

What major harms, if any, do you expect AI to cause?

The clearest harm I’ve addressed is AI-generated election deception, including deepfakes. We should combat those threats, protect free and fair elections, maximize transparency and preserve free expression. Beyond that, I haven’t publicly developed a broader forecast of AI harms; my work has focused on using AI to improve access, education, business and patient care.

AI empowers clinicians and informs patients

At Semafor World Economy 2026, she says AI is at the core of eMed’s platform, one of the most empowering tools for clinicians and a powerful tool for patient transparency and education, giving access to information never available before. She agrees with her co-panelist that AI is the most powerful tool in healthcare today, while saying trusted spokespeople still matter. Asked about X, she cites the human, AI and technology resources she put into platform safety during her tenure, calls eight or nine months “several lifetimes in AI and tech” and declines to speak for X today.
